Based on the 1982 manga of the same name, the groundbreaking animation Akira was released in 1988. Directed by original creator Katsuhiro Otomo, the film has developed an enormous following based on its stunning visuals and cyberpunk themes. Widely regarded as one of the greatest anime and animated films of all time, Akira continues to wonder viewers in Japan and in the Western world. At the time of its release it was the most expensive anime of all time.
This stunning poster from 1987 is from the original promotion for the film in advance of its release in France. Featuring Shōtarō in the central position, the design embodies the incredible post-apocalyptic and cyberpunk styling of the film.

Unframed posters are shipped to the UK next day courier delivery free of charge. Framed posters can take up to 14 working days for dispatch for the frame to be built and poster to be framed. Frames are packaged and securely padded in a purpose built reinforced cardboard box. Unframed posters are packaged and securely padded in a purpose built reinforced cardboard tube.
International shipping for unframed posters is £25 . International shipping for framed posters is a charge of £125 as a flat rate up to US One-Sheet (27 x 40”) size
