Henri Matisse - Paper Cut-Outs - Detroit Institute of Arts

Gorgeous poster depicting a 1950 artwork from the groundbreaking paper cut-out series, this poster was created to promote an exhibition of the great Henri Matisse at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Running from November 1977 to January 1978 the exhibition "The Paper Cut-Outs" contained many of the artists most iconic works from his later career.

Born 1869, Matisse is best known as a French artist, known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship. He was a draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor, but is known primarily as a painter. Matisse is commonly regarded as one of the artists who best helped to define the revolutionary developments in the visual arts throughout the opening decades of the twentieth century, responsible for significant developments in painting and sculpture.

This wonderful and rare poster is from the original exhibition promotion in 1977 and is in mint condition with vibrant colour.

International shipping for unframed posters is £25 . International shipping for framed posters is a charge of £125 as a flat rate up to US One-Sheet (27 x 40”) size.
